Lee-Ann Cass - Bio

Picture Editor / 1st Assistant Editor

Lee-Ann Cass is a DGC and CCE nominated editor. In 2020, she was nominated for her work on Christmas Chalet, receiving a DGC nomination for "Best Picture Editing - Movies for Television and Miniseries" and a Canadian Cinema Editors (CCE) nomination for "Best Editing in Live Action Series or MOW." It was only her second solo DGC editing gig.

She has been editing for over 17 years. Originally from Quebec, she moved to Ontario to attend school. Knowing from an early age she wanted to work in the television industry, editing seemed like the natural fit. The attention to detail and organizational elements of editing really appealed to her. She loved talking about the shows she watched, and discovering the motives behind each characters actions.

She started her career working at the post production house Post Producers Digital (PPD). While there, she worked on a variety of projects including commercials, music videos, infomercials and corporate videos. She worked her way from an unpaid intern to junior editor, where she edited for Youth Care Canada, MuchMoreMusic's Back In Love and MuchMusic's Video On Trial.

After five years at PPD she made the jump to the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC). She worked as an assistant editor on many Canadian and American programs including the Degrassi series,  Kim's Convenience (CBC) and Going Dutch (Fox). During her time on these shows, she was given the opportunity to edit numerous scenes for the editors. Impressed with her work, she edited several episodes and numerous trailers and promotional content.

Currently she is making the transition from assistant editor to full time editor. She's cut several MOW's, including Entertaining Christmas staring Jodie Sweeney and the 2019 films Christmas Chalet staring Erica Durance and Robin Dunne and The Magical Christmas Shoes staring Erin Karpluk. She's also cut several episodes of Degrassi and an episode of Apple TV's Circuit Breakers
